"This candle is really going to be burning for the joy that we've experienced in the past, the sorrows and pains of the past, for the joys that we've experienced today, and are experiencing today in those sorrows and pains and the energies of love and positivity of all of those times as we burn the candles for tomorrow." - Stevie Wonder Detroit 1984.
This is a meditation on the minds of the European ancestors. They could have seen Paradise, - relaxing, going fishing, doing a spot a gardening. Moving into a new future, carrying with them not the harshness, the cold of England, but a candle for tomorrow.
Prof' Greer "In Australian literature, the Europeans' corrosive unease expresses itself in a curious distortion of the pathetic fallacy, which characterizes the land as harsh, cruel, savage, relentless, the sky as implacable, pitiless and so forth. The heart of the country is called "dead". Vicissitudes of heat and cold are interpreted as a kind of punishment, and the physical world itself given the role of an avenging deity. The vegetation is described as "stunted", "warped", "misshapen", another example of projection of a presentiment of evil within to the countryside without. It was not the country that was damned but the settler who felt in his heart that he was damned. His impotent cursing, which has left a legacy in the unequalled degree of profanity in Australian speech, was a classic piece of transference. We hate this country because we cannot allow ourselves to love it. We know in our hearts' core that it is not ours."
Maiia: I Like to travel in good compay when I head into the creation realm. Three years of Natural Wonder in the workshop. Ribbon in the Sky is an outstanding track - lol- they're all outstanding.

Sunshine in Paradise, ribbons in the sky, and ribbons through the water, "As above so below." Moving with continuity and with embracing arms in opposite corners.
C.S Lewis has warrior rat Reepicheep row off with all faith into the unknown, to the very edge of the flat earth. (Chronicles of Narnia) Finding Paradise, finding Aslan. Finding The New World. Well that's how I read it to my kids.
Testifying for paradise seems particularly important as more and more attempts are made to destroy the common wealth of pristine rain-forests and rivers, the draw card that brings the tourism. Particularly when the rest of the world realizing their folly head for dry land -which isn't spoiled and crowded.
The Aquatic Club billion dollar view of Trinity Inlet inspired the hilly, mangrove background. False Cape. The descendents of those ancestors who established Cairns with their own two hands and the sweat of their brow will not be reaping much of the profit,if our representatives in government think small. Be worth twice as much in ten years time. (climate change not withstanding)

- Larry Cozzi (Ethiopia) had the yarn - If you come up against it with a lion in the old times - your best bet was to throw him a monkey. The real story behind Tarzan's relationship with Cheetah. Lol - the real reason they sent the settlers north first.
Kia ora Maiia, your art piece speaks of many colours and reminds me of an art piece that was once hanging on the HB Williams Memorial Library, Gisborne. It has that 'Folk' look to it as well, if that's the look you were after (and the style of C. Lewis). Your art piece also has some kind of 60's psychedelic look to it and an exotic pacific look too! Right time for summer and has a dreamy 'once upon a time' look on it. Nice framing by the suns rays too... Tiaki Terekia
