What we might call 'environmentally progressive use of resources' has always been around. Resourcefulness applies to wasteing anything including our time and labour. "Waste is the root of all evil." giggles Leeza, "maybe it's something to do with growing up in communism." -Energy can be wasted but it's gotta be on having fun.
Maiia: Lol: Na it's the same for most of us. Our grandparents worked real hard for us to have the oppurtunities available to today.
When applied to a sewing project -Yes we do need straight seams, and invisible seams, but we also want the minimum of cutting and sewing, the labour intensive practices that are at odds with fun.
Leeza- prefers to source vintage fabrics where possible, The Prue Acton cotton she showed me was exquisite. The more narrative that can be woven into the work the more precious it is. When you reuse fabric every piece tells a story.
