The 10 priciples of Burning Man

The 10 Ten Principles of Burning Man @ Digger Street Arts

1. Radical Inclusion: Welcome the stranger!

  1.     ;

  2. 2 Giving: Gifting does not anticipate return or exchange, the value of a gift is unconditional...

  4. 3. Decommodification: In the spirit of giving we seek to create environments free from commercial sponsorships, or advertising. Protect culture from such exploitation and resisting the substitution of consumption for live experience...                                                                                                                                            4.Radical Self Reliance: I explore and learn to rely on my inner resources

  5.                                                                                                                                                        5. Radical Self Expression: arises from the unique gifts of the individual or collaborating group, no one else can determine it's content. It is offered as a gift to others respectfully caring for the rights and liberty of the recipient

    6. Communal Effort: Creative cooperation and collaboration are important. We strive to produce, promote and protect our selves, our environment, works of art, and encourage methods of communication which promote this.

  7. 7.Civic Responsibility: We assume and communicate the importance of public welfare and civic responsibility. Including adherence to local state and federal laws.

    8.No Trace: We clean up after ourselves wherever we gather, and leave places better than when we found them.

  9. 9.Participation: A transformative power resides in deep personal participation, as an individual or even a society. We achieve a beautiful beingness through doing. Everyone is invited to work and play, with action from an open heart.

  10.  10.Immediacy: Immediate experience is a keystone value. We overcome barriers that may stand between us and recognition of our inner selves; the reality of those around us; participation in society and contact with the natural world exceeding human powers. Neither material things or mere ideas, are a substitute for a life well-lived.
