| R.I.P. Johno's Blues Bar |
|
Two community groups - and host to all the great travelling performers back into Aus history. Johno's Blues Bar and the Cairns Tropic Jazz Club.
Back into pirate-bar days when Cairns was uncharted waters to carpet-baggers and sooks from the city.
Goodbye Blues Bar & Hello Johno Johnson!
Next to Joh Bjelke - and the Fitzgerald Inquiry - Johno' is prolly the most famous person in Queensland. For 20 odd years In their tens of thousand tourists national and international flocked to Johno and the Blues Bar . Every Sunday the World Famous Gong Show made grown people laugh and play. Johno's shirts are next to the coveted Dotties Bar shirt as the number one I actually been to Cairns souvenir. Ahaha- wonder if Robert Barret bought one when he wrote Goodoo Goodo.
