June- 2009... Yesterday the big goin' on in town was linguistics (the European school of learning about communication.)
Jeannie Bell's been at Hawai'i University with Gail Woods for a Language Documentation and Conservation conference. The Advisory Committe is something else! - 26 communities /universities, London, Lyon, Alaska, Toronto, Michigan, Tokyo, Monash, ANU, all sorts... Berkely and Santa Barbara are in for some. And Live Hawai'ian entertainment too- even though uncredited it appears

James Pahinui from Hawaii did track 10 on Coffee Lands CD which was very popular in Cairns.

And for a second there yesterday I thought I saw Uncle Seaman Dan in town too. Guess it's getting that busy time of year with Tafe Recognition Concert kicking off the season. Mabo Day next week- June 3rd. AND LAURA FESTIVAL
