Greg 8 Ball Aitkin is a huge Cairns favourite. We claim him as a local seeing he's a Tablelands lad. Last time I saw them they were on tour to Japan It was particularly nice to run into Bird doing the rounds of the market stalls at Cairns Blues Festival.
-"We've been to Japan four times since then" laughs Bird. More recently the U.S and Canada and back now in Australia for the southern summer... and the festivals season...

8 Ball had short hair in the Days of True Blues and Johno's . He now sports this magnificent red coiffure - so you can tell it's been a couple of years on the road.
"Let's make the Captain Cook statue into Johno." - Most sensible idea anyones come up with apart from hanging Invasion Day placards off him.
