1983: A human chain stretched 14 miles 22.5 km across an English county they called "Nuclear Valley" in Berkshire.
The chain started at the American airbase at Greenham Common, passed the Aldermaston nuclear research centre and ended at the ordnance factory in Burghfield.

"On 14 November 1983, the first of 96 cruise missiles arrived, each carrying a warhead with the explosive power of 16 Hiroshima bombs. At the annual 'embrace the base' event the following month, 50,000 women encircled the fence. Although the missiles were removed from the base in the early nineties, a small number of women remained as part of a wider resistance to nuclear weapons. The last three left in 2000 to make way for a commemorative and historic site. Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty -Wikipedia The Battle of Greenham Common is Over...
Women for Survival at PINE GAP Spy BaseIn Australia "On November 13th women scrambled over the fence and held a Boston Tea Party on the green lawns of the Pine Gap Base. When they began walking toward the buildings 111 women were arrested for trespass, each giving their name as 'Karen Silkwood', an important anti-nuclear campaigner. The Peace Camp gained much media attention nationally and abroad, particularly the mass arrest. Complaints of police mistreatment were made around the arrests, and a Human Rights Enquiry followed."
