PALM (People Advocating Live Music) meeting an out success.
Maybe the might of the mighty Hilton building - maybe desperation - maybe commitment to the industry. Maybe the arrival of a new generation - But there was one mighty turn out for the Feb - 2008 launch of a regional Australian music initiative called Palm - People Advocating Live Music.
Maiia: 4 years of Brindle Style saw the same dozen or two faces doing ALL the work. So a bit of unity was a turn of the cards. The halcyon days of the barbary coast are long gone like the cigarette smoke that filled rooms no longer standing. (Music venues - community gathering places)
Representatives from govt; media stalwarts like Tony Hillier; Junior See Poy from Cairns Tropic Jazz Club; Eve Stafford and Melissa Roberts of Arts Nexus; Eslyn Wargent of Wu Chopperen; Terry Doyle and half the town it seems gathered with the local players like Mick O'Mara, Danny Simony, J.D Worthington, Peter Bishop, Julian Young, Laurie Ernst and the young people of today like Will Kepa and Sian Evans. as well as students and teachers -Lol- far too many to mention.
