My Experience

Technology is like hitching up to a dragon.   Wildly unpredictable, faster than

lightning, thrilling, and liable to burn you time and time again.  - BACK                    ARTIST"S NARRATIVE

From Pre-Modernism to Technology

It is a wonderfully rich experience to be trained in the pre-modern craftsmanship.  It'll probably become a lifestyle choice, much as excercising, voluntary simplicity   or spiritual retreats have become popular.

Paul Green talks  Pre-digital Music Recording

I'll address this subject firstly as a writer.  Much as there is the 'slow-food' idea; we could call the old-school skills slow-craft...

Laziness as the mother of invention saw us nut out ideas mentally rather than have to go to extensive rewriting and re-editing processes, available with cut and paste today. The mental dexterity developed was quite something.  It simply does not happen the same way on computer.   Of course it is still the creative process however the content will be different.  Which is exciting.                                                  Pangea Day May 10

Typewriter was scarey- too much paper.  During one of our computer bust-ups I went back to writing on paper - an interesting time-warp.  However for ease of editing, the laziness rules.  The end-product is distinctly different though.

What can go wrong will go wrong...

Technology  becomes obsolete!   Ahaha -did the marriage last longer than the wedding video-tape?   What is video-tape anyway?   You forget the save function!  Computer needs maintainance.  Produce  toxic wastes and consumes electricity.
