Learn to focus on the aspects of an evaluation and feedback
that you can you can LEARN from.
The purpose of getting feedback is so that the information gathered can be used to improve matters - to make things better in the future. Monday - Organisation
There are going to be times when we receive feedback that we don’t like or don't expect.
Sometimes information may be wrong. Sometimes the LAW can be wrong. Sometimes we ALL get it wrong - feeling bad about it to the point of defensiveness won't help us find good answers.
Some times feedback may be poorly delivered so that it is perceived and recieved as an accusation, or criticism - or even percieved as abusive.
COMMUNICATION IS VITAL - Tuesday - Presentation and Communication
The communication skills that we learn to use in the workplace, are also useful at thome and in the community. Good communication skills help us to grow and develop in both our personal and working lives. Bear in mind that while the personal and the workplace may interesect. They're are ultimately two different spheres. It's not Personal.
It's good to Discriminate - around what is personal, what is private and what is PUBLIC.
When we receive negative feedback on behavioural or workplace issues we need to give the matter due consideration. If necessary we may have to make changes so the problem doesn't happen again. We may need modify our behaviour. Like upskilling. Like seeking professional advice or assistance.
To get a clear and coherant view of the situation. Remember you need to practice Active Listening and Critical Thinking
Ask the person for specific examples and context.
No need to be shame about mistakes. They're inevitable.
