Doyle Entertainment

It can be hard to explain to a non-artist how the arts are economically valuable and viable.  However the commitment of local music educators is already paying dividends with  songwriters and musicians popping up here there an' everywhere.  It's nice to report there's a powerful network of support as Cairns develops it's new urban persona.

There's no stopping Cairns folk makin' music.
  Maybe it's the weather.

Maiia: Terry Doyle's -Singer-Songwriter night on a Thursday is just one example of Cairns regional development.   I've seen the diners there at Mondos pleasure as they discover they're not offered aural wall-paper but witnessing the real local talent.

The Doyle boys Terry and his brother Tony Doyle kept the Aussie larrikin alive through that dip in Australian culture the over-commercialised 1980s and  1990s.  Terry's son Jake Doyle's up on the stage as well now.  The Australiana Toad Show's back again too at the Courthouse Hotel.

Terry and Jake Doyle are the foundation of Doyle Entertainment.  Their latest adventure is creating a regular venue - the Monday nighter The Tramways on Spence St, next to Cape York Hotel.   Johno Johnson's been turning out for their Blues Night, having both worked o in Cairns for many years  -there's a youtube (below) of the Doyloes performing at the legendary Johno's Blues Bar
